Simple dreams: our basic wedding for two
If you'll be inviting friends and family, print out this page as
a checklist. Read below the marvelous options you can choose from,
and then talk to us about current prices. Use those to fill in the
worksheet at the bottom and to figure approximately how many
of guests will fit into your budget. Then contact me and we'll customize
a plan just for you.
Cakes: I think you'll find it hard to keep it simple when
you see my gorgeous original cake designs.
A cake to feed 50 people will start at about $700. My most popular
cake, the white chocolate sea shells, costs about $1000 to delight
the same number of people.
Dinners, parties, and receptions: When you price this below
below include open bars and champagne. If you choose a non-hotel
location for your reception, we can cater the food and beverage
service and provide a menu suited to your budget.
Flowers: You'll need at least the basic package of boquets
for the bride and bridesmaids, corsages and boutonnieres for the
groom and the couple's parents, table decorations for the reception,
and the equivalent of two boquets for the ceremony itself. From
there the sky's the limit. Previous Briland brides have flown in
tropical blooms from around the world: elegant lillies from Florida,
graceful birds of paradise from Brazil, even a headdress of gorgeous
purple peruvian orchids. We can make it happen.
Invitations, programs, name tags, and place names: Our basic
deisgns are simple and elegant. To make a spectacular impression
we can upgrade to fine papers embossed with pink sand.
Music: Inexpensive local bands can provide three hours of
calypso, reggae, or rock for the low-end price. A DJ will cost about
the same for any music you like. But of course, we can also fly
in the band of your choice.
Officiant's fees: The Island's Commissioner will officiate
at your servcice unless you prefer to call upon a local minister
or priest (see our churches page).
A customary fee for the officiant ranges from $150 to $250 depending
on the timing and length of the service.
Photographer: Our local photographers are very good, and
they will shoot for three hours for about $300. Or we can bring
in a dynamite professional wedding photographer from Nassau who
regularly shoots celebrity weddings at the Atlantis club and has
a portfolio that will blow your socks off.
Videographer: Just as with the photographer, we have local
people who can shoot a decent simple video of your wedding. Or we
can bring in a pro from Nassau who will make you a star in your
own special movie. He will provide an original master video plus
three copies of a highly polished, edited version with music, titles,
and special effects. Like our photographer friend, this fellow also
has a dynamite portfolio and roster of satisfied celebrity clients.
Welcome Baskets: Greet your guests with a welcome basket
that includes island maps and activity info, itinerary, sunscreen,
and goodies such as personalized hand-made chocolates, gift certificate
for a conch salad at the Queen conch take away, and charming local
Bahamian keepsakes.
